President Maduro accused Marco Rubio of leading the overthrow plan against Gustavo Petro

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, assured that the Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, is leading a plan to overthrow Gustavo Petro as president of Colombia.

“In Colombia, a plan to overthrow President Gustavo Petro has been activated and is being led by Marco Rubio in the United States. They want to fill all of Colombia with criminal gangs to overthrow and set a stage for the return of an extreme right-wing and neo-fascist government,” he denounced.

During the swearing in of Luis Caldera as governor of the state of Zulia, he stated that a great effort has been made from Venezuela to clean up this entity bordering Colombia to keep it away from drug trafficking mafias that come from the New Granada nation.

“From Colombia, what comes to us are criminal groups and drug traffickers, and if we let those groups enter, penetrate and position themselves in Venezuelan institutions and society - God forbid - we would be allowing the violence, terrorism and the hired killings that we see there to enter,” he warned while highlighting the efforts being carried out by the Bolivarian Government to maintain peace in the country.

“We are talking about more than 50 or 60 thousand hectares of coca leaf plantations. How many times have we had to clear that whole area of the attempt to set up chemical laboratories to make the drug? A tremendous battle where we have seized more than 30 tons of drugs brought from Colombia,” he said.
