President Maduro attends the takeover of Luis Caldera as governor of the state of Zulia

This Wednesday, President Nicolás Maduro accompanied the newly elected governor of Zulia, Luis Caldera, during his swearing in as regional regent for the period 2025-2029, after triumphing in the elections of May 25.

Luis Gerardo Caldera Morales, was the candidate of the Simón Bolívar Great Patriotic Pole (GPPSB) and was elected as the new governor of the state of Zulia with 64.65 percent of the votes against 35.35% of Manuel Rosales, who was seeking re-election.

During the ceremony, the president of the Legislative Council of the state of Zulia swore in the governor and imposed on him the inauguration as leader of that state. This act symbolizes authority, the representation of political power and the flag of the Zulian region.

Finally, in this symbolic act, the head of state was accompanied by Cilia Flores, First Lady of the Republic, as well as representatives of the entity's Legislative Council. Also in attendance were M/G Pedro Esteban González Ovalles, Commander of the Strategic Integral Defense Region (REDI) No. 1 West, and G/D Javier Enrique Magallanes, Commander of the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) No. 11 Zulia, among other personalities.
