The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that “from a free, sovereign and Bolivarian Venezuela, we say to President Donald Trump: we have taken a first step, hopefully it can be sustained, we want to sustain it”, referring to dialogue and understanding in a framework of respect between the two nations.

This was stated when he mentioned the visit of the special envoy of the President of the United States, Donald Trump. “We are going to a new beginning of relations, rectifying within the framework of respect and equal relations,” he stressed.

“We are not anti-American, we are anti-imperialists, which is different, we want a world without hegemony, of equals, where small countries are worth as much as big ones. So we want relationships of respect,” he emphasized.

During the Solemn Opening Session of Judicial Activities 2025, held at the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and presentation of its Management Report corresponding to the year 2024, he stated that “in diplomacy, if you want it to work, you have to always tell the truth, have a word, comply with agreements and speak little”.

He added that he always proposes not practicing microphone diplomacy, “when we go out to say things it's because they attack us and not always, but we almost always come out in defense of the dignity of the Venezuelan people, of our country.”
