The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced on Monday that the country's economic growth is projected to be more than 10% by 2024, which exceeds the estimates of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
“The International Monetary Fund said more or less an estimated 4% growth this year, that's a lot to say what the Monetary Fund says (...) ECLAC , which if it is a highly respected institution, spoke of 4.5. Turns out that the first semester was 8.7 and I can tell you that the real economy is the economy that produces goods, services, wealth,” said the Head of State during the 56th broadcast of his program Con Maduro+.
He stressed that, in addition to exchange rate stability, Venezuela has defeated hyperinflation. “We are going to have the lowest inflation this year in the last 18 years, annualized global inflation, growth with low inflation,” he emphasized.
In this regard, he stated that “if the economy grows by 8% in the first half (...) the projection is that it could exceed 10% this year”.
