President Maduro: There is a dispute over the control and domination of Venezuela

On Wednesday night, January 1st, the Head of State Nicolás Maduro gave an interview to the Spanish journalist Ignacio Ramonet in which he asserted that “there is a dispute over the control and domination of Venezuela.”

He specified that the empire believed that in 2024 it could strike a definitive blow in Venezuela, they played a double game. He noted that the empire did “what I have called the diplomacy of deception with false attraction (...) We know all those ways of acting of the American empire and its allies. They believed that 2024 was the definitive year and they applied the diplomacy of deception, based on negotiations that we carried out with the outgoing Joe Biden government, which they fully failed to comply with.”

He stressed that this is why talks were held in Barbados and Qatar, with the signing of documents. “There are the documents that they violated in a vulgar, shameless way. And underneath, they favored, financed, supported and promoted the revival of an outbreak of a fascist extreme right that would control a large part of the Venezuelan opposition, and that would lead it back to a great conspiracy, the Trojan horse they need to destroy countries.” In this regard, he stressed that “this year we have disbanded the imperialist plan to try to destroy the Bolivarian Revolution. And they maintain their obsessed, obsessed commitment to destabilize Venezuela and are trying to convert, just as they turned the presidential elections on July 28 into a world election,” he said.

In the opinion of President Maduro, the US turned the 28J election in Venezuela into a “world election” and now they want January 10 to be a global inauguration. Trying to do what they have not achieved and will not achieve, which is to destabilize our Homeland (...) Simply put, Venezuela is at peace, calm, calm and sure of its destiny, sure of its path.
