The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during a meeting with the country's working class, called on the working class to form an international movement in the oil sector to denounce the theft of crude oil by the United States that uses its armed forces as privateers.

“The oil working class must, through the International Constituent Commission, defend in international trade union bodies the truth of Venezuela, as well as the right to freedom of trade for the country's main export product, against U.S. piracy that seeks to re-impose the patent of Corsican in the world,” said the head of state.

He also said that opposing the theft of oil by the United States in the Caribbean is the defense of Venezuela's freedom of trade, and also of the entire world.

In his speech, he stated that piracy must be categorically rejected and that, although at the beginning the message may reach few, over time millions of people will join in raising the slogan: “We have to prepare to defend freedom of trade in Venezuela and also in the entire world. We must say no to piracy. Maybe today one person will hear us, but tomorrow there will be two and then millions who will say: No to piracy.”

He warned that sectors of the Nazi-Fascist right are trying to colonize Venezuela to appropriate its natural resources, including oil, gas and strategic minerals. Faced with this threat, he insisted on the need to maintain unity and national conscience in the face of attempts at domination.

Finally, he stressed that the working class and the Venezuelan people are committed to defending the homeland, to ensure that peace and shared happiness prevail in the territory, as part of the struggle for sovereignty and social justice. “We have an oath to defend our homeland, and that peace and shared happiness triumph on this soil.”
