President of the Supreme Court: Judiciary issued 5,059 judgments and made 549,334 decisions in 2024

The president of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), Caryslia Rodríguez, reported that in 2024 the Judiciary, through its different chambers, issued 5,059 judgments and at the same time the other courts of the Republic in the different judicial districts and specific powers issued 549,334 decisions, an increase of 16.21% compared to the previous year.
“In 2024, the Judiciary experienced a positive increase in productivity indices, which was part of the policy of achieving higher levels of efficiency in the system, which led to the resolution of more cases in less time thanks to the implementation of measures that made it possible to streamline judicial processes and improve their management,” he said.
He explained that the courts increased the number of decisions to a total of 534,393. He highlighted that 985 interim and alternate judges were appointed, which translates into an increase of 29.09% compared to 2023.
I explain that with regard to the general inspectorate, 494,700 ordinary, special, comprehensive inspections were carried out (...) which gave rise to 277 disciplinary procedures. With regard to the organs of the judiciary, 24 new courts and four special chambers were inaugurated. In the same order, he stated that 10 spaces were inaugurated for medical service units for the care of personnel in Táchira, Miranda, Barinas, Lara, Cojedes, Delta Amacuro, Monagas, Guárico and La Guaira, reaching the number of 51 active media services throughout the country.
It listed the carrying out of 539 renovations in judicial headquarters spaces, and 8167 corrective and preventive maintenance actions. Through academic training plans led by the Higher School of the Judiciary, 16,417 public servants and civil servants who are members of the Judiciary were trained.
8,321 prisoners were visited in detention centers and 1,196 hearings were held.
He explained that, through mobile courts, 718 days were held across the country, which attended 260,146 people and carried out 233,162 procedures for an impact of 390,728 people, representing an increase of 62.65%.
The magistrate added that in addition, in 2024, 28,764 communal judges and justices of the peace were elected in 4862 communal circuits. In relation to the Plan the Supreme Court goes to Your School, 1010 activities were carried out in 886 educational units visited.
3,929 files of prisoners were reviewed throughout the country and in the area of Children and Adolescents, 85 activities were carried out with the presence of 38,307 participants.
