The attorney general of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, confirmed that the deputy director of the Juan Escalona High School in El Hatillo will be charged with omission in the case of the adolescent who was physically, psychologically and verbally assaulted by other students at the institution.

Saab indicated that in less than a year, two sensitive events occurred in that educational center, which is why there are prisoners, who receive corrections according to Venezuela's criminal responsibility.

He highlighted that under Venezuelan laws there is criminal responsibility for adolescents over 14 years of age.

The girls who appear not only threatening to bite the assaulted thirteen-year-old girl with death, but the beating they give her is brutal, the verbal threats, the saddest thing (...) We have already provided psychological assistance to her, I interviewed her, we have taken care of her relatives. She had been beaten twice, the aggressors hated her, I don't know if out of envy, out of quarrel, but the hatred is totally unjustified,” said the Prosecutor.

He also indicated that all the adolescents who participated and recorded are in detention; two are 15 years old, who are in a rehabilitation center for minors; the rest are 12 and 13 years old, they were presented to the Protection Council, and their parents and them signed a series of commitments because they cannot be deprived of their liberty, but they are obliged to have quality preventive behavior, both educational and family.

The prosecutor added that in the case with students from that same institution, where they threw a teenager down a ravine. The assailants are under arrest.

He also said that “we summoned the parents, and the five representatives of those who appear to be aggressors signed an act of commitment. Obviously, in the prosecutor's office, we're going to charge the deputy director for omission, since she received the complaints and didn't do anything.”
