Tuesday, September 10, the
World Congress Against Fascism, Neofascism and Similar Expressions was inaugurated in La Carlota, Caracas, as
part of the actions being taken by Venezuela to end this scourge.
The inauguration was given by the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who during her speech emphasized the importance of this activity, while expressing her pleasure to participate, “as a Venezuelan woman I am proud to be in the same trench fighting fascism, because I know that just as in Venezuela we are now facing a very serious expression of extremism and fascism, I know that also in other parts of the world, symbolic situations of profound reflection are taking place”. In addition, he assured that “if fascism were to take over all the spaces on this planet, there will not be a square meter left where we can breathe”.

For his part, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, in charge of the first keynote conference, pointed out that “Venezuela has unintentionally become the epicenter of the fight against world fascism (...) We didn't choose it, we didn't seek it, they were the ones who came for us”.

The event continued this Wednesday with the keynote speech of the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, who extended his thanks to the international guests for accompanying Venezuela in this new struggle and battle of Free Peoples of the world.

Cabello said that “Venezuela is a great laboratory, whatever they try to do with Venezuela, if it works out for them, they will do it with other Peoples and notice how when I say with other Peoples, I don't mean with other governments but with other Peoples, because this is not a matter of government this it is a theme of Peoples”, while inviting us to create “an International against fascism on all fronts, spaces and places in the world to debate and talk about it (...) we are not afraid of fascism because we always go with the truth”.
