Sports Ministry announces list of athletes aspiring Central American and Caribbean flag bearers

The Ministry of Popular Power for Sports announced the list of athletes who aspire to become the standard-bearers of the 2025 Central American and Caribbean School Games to be held from November 1 to 11 in Córdoba, Colombia.
The candidates to parade with the national tricolor, of which a lady and a gentleman will be chosen, are the following:
The international karate player, Gianluca Greco López, a 17-year-old from Caracas, has an impeccable international career. He was crowned champion at the Bolivarian Youth Games in Bolivia 2024 and won gold in the South American Championship that same year.
The tennis player Jesús Tovar, who had an outstanding 2025: he was proclaimed champion in the WTT Youth Contender Caracas and repeated the achievement in Cappadocia, Turkey.
In addition, the queen of the 2024 National Games with ten gold medals, Monica Leydar, joins this list of candidates to carry the national standard.
The volleyball player, Yaleska Colina, who qualified in the South American Under-17 Championship in Lima to get a ticket to the World Cup, and also won gold at the 2024 South American Games in Bucaramanga.
The 16-year-old youth weightlifter Enderlin Ulacio has an outstanding performance during 2025.
The final decision on who will carry the national flag will be announced next week by the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports and the Venezuelan Olympic Committee.
