This Thursday, the Sudanese Army reported an attack by the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (FAR) against the city of Al Fasher, capital of North Darfur, which left at least 132 fatalities.

The Sudanese Armed Forces detailed, through a statement, that among the dead there are 62 civilians, including 17 women and 15 children, Telesur published.

It is also known that government troops repelled two paramilitary offensives in the southeast and northeast of the city, causing significant casualties to the enemy.

“Seventy militiamen died, including leaders, and dozens were injured, while 15 combat vehicles and two tankers were destroyed,” the letter said.

Al Fasher became the epicenter of the Sudanese conflict, with aerial bombings and ground fighting that have generated a massive exodus of civilians.

The war between the Army and the terrorist group FAR escalated greatly in 2023, and resulted in thousands of fatalities and more than eleven million internally displaced persons.
