Two-time champion! Venezuela reigns supreme in Central American and Caribbean School Games 2025 (+Colombia)

Venezuela was crowned two-time champion of the VII Central American and Caribbean School Sports
Games Córdoba 2025, with an
outstanding performance that allowed it to win 103 gold medals out of 208 contested.
The Venezuelan delegation also won 56 silver and 40 bronze medals for a total of 199 medals, thus becoming two-time champion after the victory achieved as host in 2023.
The second place went to host Colombia
with 57 golds, 65 silvers and 49 bronzes, while Mexico completed the podium with
17 golds, 33 silvers and 35 bronzes.
The following positions were occupied by
Panama (12 golds), Nicaragua (8 golds), El Salvador (6 golds), Guatemala (4 golds)
and Honduras (1 gold).
Swimming and Weightlifting were the
disciplines where Criollos stood out the most, winning 54 gold medals (27 each).
Venezuelan swimmer Mónica Leydar was the
most outstanding athlete of the event, winning a total of 8 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals.
