The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) reported that, in October, 260 attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians were recorded, the highest number since 2006.

At a press conference in Geneva, spokesman Tamin al Kitan explained that the forced displacement of Palestinians constitutes an illegal transfer and is considered a war crime. He also noted that the transfer of the Israeli population to the occupied territories is also classified as such.

The official said that recent images of hooded settlers setting fire to areas of the West Bank show the magnitude of violence against the Palestinian population.

Al Kitan concluded that Israel must stop building settlements and withdraw settlers from occupied territories, ensuring respect for the right to Palestinian self-determination.
