The Deputy Minister for Europe of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Coromoto Godoy Calderón, received a visit on June 19 from the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Venezuela, Andrei Molchan, with whom she addressed issues related to bilateral cooperation and international politics.
At the cordial meeting, held at the “Antonio José de Sucre” Yellow House, the protocol headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, both diplomats agreed on the firm intention of Venezuela and Belarus to continue consolidating alliances to maintain bilateral relations at the highest level.
They discussed the upcoming presidential elections on July 28, in which a Belarusian delegation will participate as an overseer, and they affirmed that this event will continue the democratic tradition enshrined in the Bolivarian Constitution.
In addition, they shared the rejection of the imposition of unilateral coercive measures, considering them as mechanisms of extortion and interference in countries' internal affairs, “which have also served to cover up the plunder of our assets abroad, as has happened with the theft of CITGO,” said Ambassador Godoy.
In addition, in the area of cooperation, they reviewed the status of existing and negotiated agreements, in different areas, such as air services, education, science and technology. In particular, progress was made in agreements for the acquisition of high-quality agricultural and industrial equipment, manufactured with Belarusian technology and which will contribute to the economic recovery of Venezuela.
Finally, the ambassadors reiterated that the alliance between the two countries is built on solid foundations and in multiple areas, such as food production, energy, education, air transport, trade, petrochemistry, a truck factory and agricultural machinery, health, fishing and aquaculture, pharmaceuticals, housing construction, science and technology, among others.
