Venezuela and India advance scientific cooperation agenda

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of India are advancing an agenda of cooperation in the areas of science and innovation, with the intention of strengthening productive development and well-being for both nations.
This was announced by the Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, after holding a meeting with the vice-president of the National Academy of Sciences of India, Anurag Agrawal, and the Executive Director of the institution, Dr. Brajesh Pandey.
At this meeting, reviewed on their Telegram channel, representatives of both nations spoke “about the fundamental role of science, research and training as pillars to promote productive development, sustainability and the well-being of our peoples”.
The minister highlighted the work being done by the South Asian nation in the area of research and development, especially as an engine for economic transformation.
In this regard, he highlighted the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative, “a national plan to become a developed economy for the centenary of its independence. The strategy prioritizes digital technology, quantum computing, biotechnology, nanotechnology, drug chemistry, aerospace science, infrastructure and sustainable growth.”
He recalled that this visit to the National Academy of Sciences of India is part of the cooperation agenda carried out by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, in India, the country where she arrived last Wednesday, where science and technology are points of interest.
“We reaffirm the will to implement projects that promote technological sovereignty and consolidate the strategic alliance between Venezuela and India,” he concluded.
