Venezuela and the Pan-African Parliament strengthen legislative cooperation

The Deputy Minister for Africa of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yuri Pimentel, visited the headquarters of the Pan-African Parliament in South Africa, where he was received by the member of the legislative body and representative of the African National Congress (ANC), Mdumiseni Ntuli.
During the meeting, Pimentel highlighted the upcoming installation of the Venezuela-African Union Parliamentary Friendship Group, scheduled for May 2024, under the chairmanship of Deputy Jesús Suárez Chourio, of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), which seeks to consolidate ties between both regions and promote joint initiatives.
The Venezuelan representative also expressed his gratitude to the Pan-African Parliament for its support during the last presidential elections of July 28, 2024. He also extended a formal invitation to participate as international observers in the legislative and regional elections, scheduled for May 25.
For his part , Mdumiseni Ntul i valued the invitation and reaffirmed the commitment of the President of the Pan-African Parliament, Fortune Charumbira, to collaborate in the electoral support process. This gesture reinforces cooperation between the two institutions in the democratic sphere.
The Pan-African Parliament, based in South Africa, represents the 55 countries of the African continent and is composed of 229 deputies.
