Venezuela and Vietnam agree to hold an Intergovernmental Commission in the last quarter of 2026

The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, announced this Wednesday that the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission between Venezuela and Vietnam is scheduled to take place in the last quarter of the year 2026.
During a joint statement with his counterpart from Vietnam, Le Hoai Trung, from the Antonio José de Sucre Yellow House, Gil emphasized that this Intergovernmental Commission is aimed at consolidating and deepening the Strategic Cooperation Partnership between the two countries, through the development of a common agenda of mutual benefit.
“This diplomatic mechanism seeks to accelerate bilateral, commercial and investment agreements in key areas, such as agriculture, energy, telecommunications, industry, tourism, culture, goods and services,” said the Venezuelan Foreign Minister.
He said that Vietnam is a fundamental strategic partner for Venezuela, as “an emerging power for the world”, so Caracas maintains an “extremely fruitful” historic relationship with Hánoi and the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, has urged to further strengthen political trust and promote economic-commercial cooperation, in addition to expanding alliances in new areas with the Asian country,” he added.
For his part, Foreign Minister Hoai Trung stressed that “cooperation between Caracas and Hanoi enters a new phase of well-being, peace and the strengthening of strategic sectors.”
Finally, the head of Vietnamese diplomacy thanked the Bolivarian Government for the ties of brotherhood that have united them since 1989, which have allowed them to achieve their development objectives.
