The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gil, published, through his Telegram channel, an official statement in which Venezuela rejects the imposition of new unilateral coercive measures on representatives of the Venezuelan State.
Below is the full text of the statement:
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejects, in the strongest terms, the new crime of aggression committed by the government of the United States of America against Venezuela by imposing unilateral, illegitimate and illegal coercive measures on a group of State officials, demonstrating, once again, its total disregard for international law, the self-determination of peoples and the democratic will of Venezuelans, in a rude act that seeks to ingratiate itself with a political class that has using fascist and violent practices to overthrow, without success, Bolivarian democracy.
The erroneously called “sanctions”, which have been shamefully promoted by the fascist extreme right, break and violate the agreements signed in Qatar and seek to impose on an entire country and its institutions the policies of “regime change” as part of the Monroe doctrine. Little can be expected from the most hostile and bloodthirsty power humanity has ever known, the one responsible for millions of murders in the world with genocidal partners and a history of disregard for the needs of its own citizens.
The United States government will once again follow the path of failure and will be defeated by the dignity of Venezuela, which will continue to achieve new achievements, strengthen its economy, consolidate its participatory and leading democratic process and, above all, strengthening its ties with other nations of the world that do understand diplomacy, respect and cooperation for mutual benefit.
The multicentric and multipolar world that Commander Hugo Chávez spoke of has become a reality and there will be no aggression and threat that separates the homeland of Bolívar from its leading role, while the practices of Imperialism succumb to their systemic moral misery.
The government of the aggressor State is isolated in its frustration, while Venezuela is growing and overcoming. This attack against people who, day by day, defend the sovereignty and peace of the Nation only ratifies their will to sacrifice and deserve the recognition of the entire population. The aggressor that El Libertador, Simón Bolívar, made clear the horizon to follow when he sentenced: “Whoever abandons everything because he is useful to his country loses nothing and earns how much
He enshrines”.
