The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, sent deep thanks from the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Esmail Baqai, for his message of congratulations after the peaceful and democratic swearing in of last January 10.
In his account on the social network Telegram, Gil highlighted the importance of these statements in support of stability and peace in Venezuela.
The foreign minister also valued Baqai's statements in rejection of military intervention plans and the tightening of unilateral coercive measures promoted by external actors.
“We also value your timely statements in rejection of plans for military intervention and the tightening of unilateral coercive measures promoted by those who seek to destabilize peace,” he said.
In a message released by Iranian media, Baqai congratulated President Maduro on his swearing in for the period 2025-2031, and stressed the importance of maintaining strong bilateral relations between the two countries. This gesture reflects Iran's commitment to the development and stability of Venezuela.
Relations between Venezuela and Iran cover several areas, such as education, technology and the economy.
In 2024, both countries reaffirmed 298 cooperation agreements, of which 80 were signed in the last two years.
