The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yvan Gil, recalled the birth of Ernesto “Che” Guevara this Saturday and highlighted his legacy as a symbol of social and anti-imperialist struggle in Latin America.
Through a message on his Telegram channel, Gil highlighted that the revolutionary spirit of the Argentine-Cuban guerrilla fighter “lives on in every young man and woman who praises supportive medicine and participates in the struggles for social justice.”
“He dedicated his life to just causes,” wrote the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, stressing Che's commitment to revolutionary causes, from his role in the Cuban Revolution to his participation in guerrilla movements in the Congo and Bolivia, in favor of freedom for oppressed peoples.
