The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, inaugurated this Tuesday the World Congress against Fascism, Neofascism and other similar expressions, with the participation of social movements from more than 190 countries.

During the opening conference, Rodríguez stressed that right now humanity is facing “one of the cruelest threats, such as the fascist world network (...) and I call it the international cartel of fascism”.

From the La Carlota Convention Center, in Caracas, he stated that to address the issue of fascism it is important to understand “the development of capitalism, the crises of capitalism that, at the time, in the First World War, in the Second World War, the role of the United States in promoting this fascist current in Europe and how it developed precisely in Europe and today how the concentration of capital who have retreated towards a new technological transformation in the world and since that has brought geopolitical consequences and also the development of this current against humanity”.

In this regard, he stressed the importance of Caracas hosting this activity. “As a Venezuelan woman, I am proud to be in the same trench fighting fascism because I know that just as in Venezuela we are now facing a very serious expression of extremism and fascism, I know that in other parts of the world there are also symbolic situations of profound reflection,” she said.
