Vice President of the CNE: The People believe in participatory and leading democracy

Carlos Quintero, vice-president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), assured that the election day concerning the first National Popular Consultation of 2025 took place normally and with high participation.

In this regard, he specified that the electoral process this Sunday, February 2, surpassed in participation the elections of last December 15, when the judges and justices of the peace were elected.

“This electoral process strengthens the vote in its capacity for democracy, strengthens democracy,” he said, while expressing the CNE's satisfaction after the day.

He also assured that the “National Electoral Council has been improving the tools for this type of project, an automated system for a project in order to have much more structured information that will then serve, in this case, the Federal Government Council for its management of everything that is the allocation of resources”.

“With this high participation, the people believe in participatory and leading democracy, the people definitely want the new state to be born and born in favor of participation, through voting as a mechanism to face their own decisions,” he said.

He also specified that through the vote taken this Sunday, the people have the tools to say what are the most urgent needs they have and then transform these needs into reality.
