The Venezuelan under-20 and senior teams debuted with 1-0 and 2-1 victories, respectively, against Colombia, in the opening of the Futsal Evolution League in the northern zone of Conmebol.
At the Poliedro de Caracas, the U-20 started the match with a lot of impetus, in search of a goal, but the Colombian national team pushed back with their counterattacks and forced Venezuela to retreat.
As the first half went on, the Criollos increased their level of play and generated dangerous opportunities effectively repelled by the New Granada goalkeeper.
With two minutes left until the end of the first half, a quick overflow allowed Venezuelan Alexis González to score the only goal of the match, according to the Ministry of Sport press.
In the second half, the expulsion of Alexis González, complicated Venezuela, who played outnumbered for three minutes and was forced to endure the Colombian attacks.
However, the great work of goalkeeper Irwing Linares made it possible to keep the goal at zero, to ensure the first victory of the under-20 team in the Evolution League.
In the senior category, those led by Robinson Romero beat the fierce Colombian national team 2-1.
Venezuela won the victory with a goal from Ricxson Argüello's balloon, at 18′, and a bombshell from Enyerver Viloria at 11′ that gave peace of mind to manage the result.
Colombia scored with a penalty kick scored by Luis David Pineda at 7′ of the second half, but Venezuela maintained control of the actions and with an impenetrable defense it took all three points.
The second day Venezuela faces Peru in the U20 category (5 p.m.) and then in the absolute category (7:15 p.m.).
