Venezuelan Willson Contreras shot the longest home run so far this season in the major leagues.
Contreras
took it out this Tuesday during the Toronto Blue Jays 10-9 victory over the St. Louis
Cardinals, his 160th home run in major league history and 8th in
the campaign.
According to the Statcast measurements, the official MLB system, the
Contreras volacercas started at 110.7 miles per hour and traveled 432 feet, being the longest in the campaign.
The careta
hit a home run by Anthony Santander with 161, among the Venezuelans with the most
home runs in the Majors. The list is led by Miguel Cabrera with 511, Andrés
Galarraga 399, Magglio Ordoñez and Eugenio Suarez, both with 294.
