According to the newspaper Úlmas Noticias, from the first healthcare center in the state, First Lady Karem Durán de Bernal indicated that these operations would be carried out month by month during the year.
The president of the Tachirenses Family Foundation also emphasized that cataract and pterygium operations in private healthcare centers range from 2,000 to 2,500 dollars, “today we continue to operate completely free of charge.”
For his part, Samuel Aguilar, one of the beneficiaries of these interventions, said that, “the Miracle Mission operated on me about four years ago, they also gave me the lens for my right eye and I looked very good, now with the Tachirense Foundation they operated on my other eye and here I am waiting for the reaction with the favor of God and life”.
