This Monday, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), through a statement, urged respect for the State of Bolivia in the face of road blockades and claims to violate its sovereignty.

Here is the full statement:

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) calls for respect for the institutionality, social peace and sovereignty of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

We reaffirm that the Bolivian people, with their historic anti-colonial, indigenous and popular vocation, have the inalienable right to build their own destiny with dignity, justice and participation.

Faced with the current complex situation, we advocate for constitutional solutions that guarantee fundamental rights: voting, free movement, health, work and life. Any difference must be channeled through dialogue and the strengthening of the rule of law.

We call on all political and social actors to avoid confrontations and to prioritize peaceful coexistence. Unity, mutual respect and popular leadership are the basis of any democratic solution.

We value the efforts of the Bolivian Government to preserve stability and defend the plurinational character of the State, an expression of its rich cultural and political diversity.

From the ALBA-TCP, we reiterate our support for the constitutional order and the sovereign right of the Bolivian people to resolve their challenges in freedom and with full self-determination.
