The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) welcomed the victory of the Ecuadorian people, following the popular consultation in which they reaffirmed their commitment to national sovereignty, self-determination and the inalienable right to decide their own destiny.

The member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) salute the great victory of the Ecuadorian people, expressed today in the popular consultation, where they strongly reaffirmed their commitment to national sovereignty, self-determination and the inalienable right to decide their own destiny.

The results show the will of a nation forged in the temperament of Marshal Antonio José de Sucre, the courage of Manuela Sáenz, the firmness of Eloy Alfaro and the liberating spirit of Simón Bolívar; reaffirming itself as a people heir to the dignity and strength of our independence heroes.

This victory is the patriotic rebirth that evokes the great hours of our American project, demonstrating the validity and historic strength of the purpose of union and independence of the Great Homeland. The Alliance applauds this expression of national will, which stands firm in the face of those who attempt to undermine its sovereignty and condition its destiny.

Long live the brave Ecuadorian people!
