The Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), Jorge Arreaza, described the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, as ridiculous, regarding his statements regarding the political asylum of former candidate Edmundo González Urrutia.

The statements of the Secretary of the Alliance respond to a statement published by Almagro in which he described the exile of González Urrutia as “forced”.

Through his Telegram channel, Arreaza described as decadent the role that Almagro plays as an “agent of imperialism”, while questioning that he is “Sicario (Secretary) General of the OAS most dedicated to the orders and designs of Washington; and for a colonial ministry, that record was very difficult to break.”

He also recalled that since 2015 the OAS has done nothing more than attack Venezuelan democracy and institutions, through the promotion of coups d'etat, sanctions, military invasion, violence, destabilization, migration and death.

Finally, he wrote “yes, I remember how at the time he flattered President Maduro and how he was desperately looking for the Venezuelan delegation to support him for his election. He would tell us things like: “Tell MY COMRADE Nicolas, that I need to talk to him. I am an admirer and defender of Commander Chávez's legacy. I'm not going to fail them.” Cynical and hypocritical!”
