The Venezuelan athlete Lisbeli Vera dropped out of the competition in the final of the 100 meters T47 at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, due to injury.

In information provided by the Ministry of People's Power for Sports this Thursday, the athlete suffered a “rupture of the anterior rectum tendon of the right quadriceps muscle”. Vera felt muscle discomfort just 20 meters from the finish line, which she dominated and was emerging as a candidate for gold. A thorough medical evaluation confirmed the diagnosis. He underwent ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging.

The Venezuelan has already won the silver medal in the 400 meters T47, the first medal for the national delegation in this edition.
