The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
Tarek William Saab, ratified this Thursday the summons to appear before the Public
Ministry (MP) for the former candidate of opposition extremism, Edmundo
González Urrutia, and reiterated that, in addition, he is still being sought by the courts.
During a press conference with national and international media,
Saab provided details about a meeting he held this Wednesday
with González Urrutia's lawyer, who through a letter recognized the
legitimacy of the institutions of the Venezuelan State, but still
does not appear personally before the judicial body.
“By recognizing (the institutionality), it reaffirms the conviction
that the Public Ministry works for justice and peace,” said the
prosecutor, stating that “he (Edmundo) knows that he did not win any
elections, the letter is signed by him.”
