This weekend in the town of Los Bagres de San Juan de los Morros, Guárico state, a series of cultural activities were held that began on Saturday at midnight, to celebrate San Juan Bautista with the ringing of drums and songs.

The vibrant ringing of drums and the ancient songs in honor of the patron saint filled the atmosphere, creating a meeting space where tradition merges with the identity of a town, where they carried out the activity “One Image, a Thousand Flags”, and the Child Jesus shepherds did the same with songs.

The United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared in 2021 the festive cycle around the devotion and worship of Saint John the Baptist as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

It is important to note that the Feast of Saint John, also called Saint John's Eve or Night of Saint John, is the Christian holiday of the birth of Saint John the Baptist that is celebrated on June 24 of each year.
