The first
vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV),
Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reiterated this Tuesday that the civic-military rebellion of
February 4, 1992, led by Commander Hugo Chávez, was against imperialism and the elites that governed the country then at the service of
imperialism.
“If anything should be
clear, it is that the February 4th rebellion was against the ruling elites,
but it was an eminently anti-imperialist rebellion, because here in this country
who governed North American imperialism,” Cabello said from Paseo
Los Próceres, in Caracas, where President Nicolás Maduro hosted the grand march to commemorate 33 years of that historic feat.
He said that
currently Venezuela appears to be a united country, “a real rock against
the enemies of the Fatherland, men and women of different types, motorized,
workers, young people, women, students, soldiers, police, all in a
single unit for the defense of the Fatherland.”
In this regard,
he warned that “if the enemy were to make the mistake of making a mistake with us,
he knows that he will have an immediate response, a strong answer and
we are going to show him that 33 years ago Hugo Chávez stood up with the People to
never leave power again”.
