A person's commitment to the promotion, development and promotion of Popular Power, Communes and Communal Circuits is one of the variables that revolutionary militancy must take into account in choosing the candidates that the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) will run for the upcoming elections.

This was emphasized by the first vice-president of the red awning, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, who stressed that the development of the Communes was an order left by Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez Frías, in order to promote the productive capacities of the People.

“If you are indifferent to opening spaces for real Popular Power, who is the one that carries the strength of a Revolution, we will take it into account,” said Cabello during the Plenary of the Extraordinary Congress of the Red Awning.

He also pointed out that the option of consensus must be left open so that, in specific cases, the president of the PSUV, Nicolás Maduro, is the one who appoints, according to certain considerations, candidates for any position of popular election.

“There has to be a higher standard. I ask this congress to consider the State's reasons for choosing some candidates and to give all the support to President Nicolás Maduro and the entire political leadership to make the appropriate decisions somewhere,” he stressed.

Another element to consider for these selections must be participation in the meetings that take place at the different levels of organization of the red awning.

“We are going to give strength to our own structure. Political teams, communal circuits must be born with force so that they pass over those who do not want to meet,” he stressed.
