This Wednesday, February 5th, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, reaffirmed that a revolutionary and a revolutionary must be detached, with regard to the selection of candidates for the elections next April 27.

“Yesterday the President spoke of detachment, and some of us talked about the detachment that a revolutionary, a revolutionary must have, in the barracks one says that the military man neither offers nor refuses, but that is also true for the life of a revolutionary or a revolutionary (...) we all know who can be and who cannot be a candidate for the PSUV,” said Cabello.

He also stressed that in the PSUV all its members can be qualified to be candidates, as well as all the comrades of the Great Patriotic Pole and Social Movements.

“But there is no bed for so many people, there are only 24 governorates, 277 deputies, the number is small, so... How can we choose without falling into injustices or small groups, which have done us so much harm? (...) How to prevent those who in any way exercise or have exercised control of any sector of the party's rank and file from using this to divert the fund of a proposal of the highest democratic level? (...) That exists, but hardly anyone likes to say that and some people think that's normal, but for a revolution that's neither normal nor can it be normal, and even more so if you hurry me that I would say that's counterrevolutionary,” he said, referring to the challenges in choosing candidates.

For this reason, he emphasized that the election of candidates “must be a process framed in the highest possible purity .”

On the other hand, he highlighted the great day that took place yesterday, in the framework of the commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of the civic-military rebellion of February 4, 1992. At the same time, he recalled that this Congress has three fundamental tasks, plus one added by President Nicolás Maduro, which was the formation of the party's sectoral teams.

Regarding the formation of the Historical Bloc, he highlighted the fortune that young people have to have the wisdom and physical presence of those who were the forerunners. “They should take the opportunity to ask Noheli (Pocaterra) and Soto Rojas how they have resisted all the battles they have faced and that with morals they are always there,” he said.
