Cabello: More than 155,000 people were nominated by the rank and file for the offices of mayors and councilors

The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, announced that a total of 155,875 people were nominated by the bases of the red curtain for the offices of mayors and municipal councils.
During the press conference of the ruling party, Cabello explained that 47,263 communities were convened for the nomination meetings, 47,263 communities nationwide.
In that sense, he indicated that this is an example “for those who are terrified of consulting the People, we consult the People absolutely everything” and added that this happens “when you have a party that is organized, that has structure, these things can be done”.
He also described the day as “beautiful” and “extraordinary”, while explaining that those communities where it could not be done “for extreme reasons asked for permission and we authorized it for Sunday”.
Regarding the announced results, he noted that so far “95.1% of all communities” have submitted their information.
Regarding the participation of women in these applications, she stated that “49.8% are women and 50.2% are men; it is a tremendous demonstration of unity and respect for the right of women and men to be elected”.
The leader of the red awning explained that “for mayors, which are 335, there are 38,724 candidates (...) and for councilors who are 2,471 principal (plus alternates), 134,724 people are running.
“Here we are going in block with the Great Patriotic Pole, in a solid, unitary block; the block will present the candidates and the candidates as it was in the election of the candidates and the governorates and the deputies. A single force presents itself to the country as the revolutionary alternative,” he said.
