The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, emphasized that the Civic-Military Rebellion of February 4, 1992 “marks the milestone that broke with the old scheme of the Fourth Republic and causes it to enter into crisis.”

In that sense, during the Mobilization for the 33 years of the Civic-Military Rebellion of February 4th, he emphasized that Commander Chávez, with his “for now”, brought this nefarious model of the Fourth Republic into intensive care, until he was sworn in as President and called for a National Constituent Assembly.

“From then on, our country began to transform, to this day; and it has been able to withstand sieges, ambushes, persecution, blockades, sanctions; all these actions of imperialism our people have endured standing and resisted and in every obstacle that comes our way, the People emerge victorious,” he said.

Cabello also stressed that now the Revolution, after consolidating the civic-military union, is now “moving towards political transformation with the new strategy, the popular-military-police fusion, working on it every day in the streets, communities, where our People move, where our People have their desires and dreams.”
