The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, confirmed that the process of nominating candidates for mayors and municipal councils of the country will be exclusively defined by the People through Assemblies.
“We are sure and convinced that peace and tranquility will reign, that the postulates will not fall into provocations or put pressure on anyone. Here there is no line of governors or deputies or anyone else. The only line is given by the People with their proposal,” said Cabello.
He explained that, according to the established requirements, candidates for mayors must be over 25 years old, while for municipal councils, the age requirement is 21.
Cabello stressed that the Assembly day will be held tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. throughout the country and urged that the meetings be disseminated on social networks.
“We always call for unity, above any office or election, because that was one of the main lessons that Commander Chávez left us: Unity, Struggle, Battle and Victory,” he said.
