During the swearing in of Wilmer Rodríguez as governor of the state of Apure, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed the importance of the people of the llanera entity taking an active role in decision-making and the development of the region.

Cabello emphasized that Apure has the potential to become a national reference and that the key lies in citizen participation.

“This is the path, the path is to hand over to our People the greatest power that can be given to them, and that it is the People who make the transcendental decisions that have to be taken. I have no doubt that Apure will be a powerhouse,” he said.

He also called on Rodríguez to involve youth in his management and to recognize the advances that the country has made compared to previous decades. “Look for young people, look into their eyes and let them understand that what we live here today is nothing like what was experienced 40 years ago,” he warned.

Cabello also urged citizens to accompany the new governor in his work: “When this humble man tells you 'don't leave me alone', don't leave him alone. Rule with him, talk to him, don't leave him alone to be the best governor in Apure State. Because he has the will, the desire and the conviction, the spirit of surrender and the detachment of a good man.”
