The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reported that in the next few hours of this Monday the revolutionary awning will hold a meeting to talk about the territory of Guiana Essequiba.

“In a while we have a meeting on the subject of Guiana Essequiba to work on, among other things, which is an instruction given by the president (Nicolás Maduro), because it is a new territory. It is now up to the legislators of this state to legislate its territorial division,” Cabello said during the press conference of the National Directorate of the PSUV.

In this regard, he recalled that the governor and the first Legislative Council were elected in Guiana Essequiba on May 25 of this year.

“The Legislative Council has already been installed, but Guiana Essequiba is not divided into municipal territories. Then it is the Legislative Council that must make its internal laws, its constitution and define the territory divided by municipalities. Once that's done, that's when we can call for municipal elections in our Guiana Esequiba,” he explained.
