Delcy Rodríguez at the PSUV Congress: This party must be the political arm of Venezuelan society

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted this Thursday the historic importance of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), in the midst of the multiple aggressions promoted by North American imperialism and its lackeys against the People and the Fatherland.

“We know that as a party we are a powerful electoral machine. But history requires us to go even beyond being a powerful electoral machine. This party must be the political arm of Venezuelan society, that we are in every space, in every territory, in every social sector, we are there with our proposal, which is a historic proposal,” he said.

During the third day of the Extraordinary Plenary of the V Congress of the PSUV, the revolutionary leader recalled Commander Hugo Chávez's approach to the development of the country. “Chávez told us what the democratic program is, profoundly democratic, transferring more power to the people, socialism morally, in love, socialism politically and economically,” he said.

In this regard, he stressed that these programmatic, strategic lines “have been taken by President Nicolás Maduro, president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, to lead the reins of a nation under threat. It's not just any country, you know, because of Venezuela's own characteristics, because of its historical characteristics,” he said.
