Deputies Marleny Contreras and Giuseppe Alessandrello received Order of the Virgin of the Valley

The deputies Marlenys Contreras (PSUV/Monagas) and Giuseppe Alessandrello (PSUV/La Guaira) received the Virgin of the Valley Order, for their contribution to the preservation, care, arrangement, exaltation and veneration of the image of the Virgin of the Valley.

According to a press release from the National Assembly (AN), the recognition was imposed this Sunday by the Municipal Council and the Mayor's Office of the Almirante José María García municipality, in the state of Nueva Esparta, during the acts of veneration of the Virgin that took place on the esplanade of the Minor Basilica in the El Valle del Espíritu Santo sector.

Mayor Cruz Lairet, together with the president of the chamber, Jonás Caraballo and other councilors, held a solemn session in honor of the Patron Saint of the Venezuelan East and the country's seas, on the occasion of the 113th anniversary of her coronation and renamed Virgin of the Valley.

The former Minister of Education, Yelitze Santaella, also received the order, as well as other local and national personalities who worship the virgin, also known as the Queen of the Seas.
