Deputy Minister Pimentel: Egypt's foreign policy is key to strengthening relations in the Global South

The foreign policy of the Arab Republic of Egypt is key to strengthening relations in the Global South. This country seeks to promote security, economic development and regional stability, highlighted the Deputy Foreign Minister for‎África, Yuri Pimentel, during the installation of the diplomatic seminar: "Venezuela-Egypt. 75 years of Diplomatic Relations towards a multipolar future for the Global South”.

‎ “Egypt is an indispensable pillar in the multilateral architecture, in addition to being an important actor in the United Nations (UN), as well as in the League of Arab States and a strategic member in the expansion of BRICS Plus,” he said.

‎Respecto to the Second Venezuela-Egypt Joint Commission, to be held in 2026, Pimentel said that this mechanism will promote new exchanges based on cooperation in oil, gas, mining, economy, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, education, tourism and culture.

‎Puntualizó that Venezuela and Egypt maintain a firm and unwavering defense of multilateralism, the self-determination of peoples and the refounding of the international system, in which equality, sovereignty and social justice prevail.

‎En Along the same lines, the ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt accredited to Caracas, Kareem Essam El-Din Amin, reiterated that both nations will continue to deepen cooperative relations based on mutual economic interests and raise the collective voice of the Global South on the international stage.

‎Por for his part, the Deputy Deputy Minister for Latin America of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Ashraf Mounir, indicated that cultural diplomacy is one of the tools for uniting, promoting and massifying this fundamental area among the peoples of the south. “Venezuela and Egypt are nations rich in culture, so it's time to exchange knowledge in performing arts, sports and dances, among others,” he said.

‎El seminar was held at the Bolivian Museum of the National Assembly, in Caracas, as part of the activities for the 75. Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Egypt. It included the participation of International Studies students from various houses of studies, special guests and officials from the Office of the Deputy Minister for Africa of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
