Without the civic-military revolt of February 4, 1992 in Venezuela, it would not have been possible for the Bolivarian Revolution to come to power, said the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello.
“By that date, a town had been hit hard. On February 4, there was a charge of indignation that no one could have stopped, so we can't immediately evaluate the story. There is Revolution here thanks to February 4th, today we have a government, People in government, thanks to February 4th,” Cabello said during the podcast Sin Truco Ni Maña.
In this regard, he reiterated that this heroic feat was carried out by a group of young officers to help the People, not to favor the oligarchy and bring imperialism into the country.
“We don't rise up for money. We didn't rise up so that imperialism would do whatever it wanted, we didn't rise up to favor the oligarchy or business groups. We stand up for a great sense of Homeland, reviving Bolivar,” he emphasized.
In the same way, Cabello recalled that before becoming involved in the revolutionary movement led by the Supreme Commander, Hugo Chávez Frías, he was a member of the Red Flag party, which was always infiltrated by the repressive bodies of the time.
