Diosdado Cabello: Violence in Colombia is political

This Monday, during the regular press conference of the National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that “violence in Colombia is political.”

“In 6 months, they killed three candidates, every time they have an internal problem, they solve it to the bone, because what there are are paramilitary gangs, gangs that have control in Colombia because of drug trafficking, they wanted to bring that to Venezuela,” he told the press.

In this regard, Cabello highlighted that drug traffickers and paramilitaries such as Pablo Escobar, Álvaro Uribe, Iván Duque, were part of the Congress and “are part of drug trafficking in Colombia.”

He also highlighted the fight against drug trafficking carried out by the Bolivarian Government with the seizure of 1,600 kg of cocaine that were confiscated “and there were more, but they were thrown from a boat...”.

Regarding the attack on Miguel Uribe Turbay, senator and pre-candidate for the opposition Democratic Center party in the presidential elections of 2026 in Colombia, he said that “when you see the cold form of the murderer without any kind of bodily demonstration”.

“Hopefully the intelligence agencies can get to the matter in depth,” said the general secretary of the PSUV and analyzed that someone paid the captured young man to carry out the murder. “It is difficult to reach that culprit of the murder, let's hope that Colombia will be cured of this disease,” he said.
