In the framework of the commemoration of February 4, the Day of National Dignity of Venezuela and the Day of the Beginning of the Armed Struggle against colonialism in Angola, the Constituent Assembly of the Angolan Committee for Solidarity with Bolivarian Venezuela (CASOVEB), which was created with the objective of strengthening the ties of solidarity between the two, took place at the headquarters of the Angolan League of Friendship, Solidarity and Peace (LAASP), in Luanda nations, from the promotion of cultural, political, educational and social exchange, in support of the Bolivarian Revolution and People's Diplomacy.

This historic event was attended by diplomatic representatives from Cuba, Nicaragua and Palestine, the directors and spokespersons of the LAASP, members of the International Anti-Fascist Angola Chapter, former fellows of the Grand Marshal Foundation of Ayacucho (Fundayacucho) graduated from Venezuela, Association for the Progressive Development of Youth of Angola (ADEJA), Network African Cooperation and Development (RACD), Circle 4F-Angola, students and professors of the “Nelson Mandela” Polytechnic Higher Institute (ISPNM), former combatants of the Angolan liberation struggle, the Director of the Camerata Orchestra of Luanda and the President of the National Association of Young Farmers and Peasants of Angola.

During the event, the Deputy Minister for Africa of the Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yuri Pimentel, thanked the initiative to create the CASOVEB and highlighted February 4 as a date that unites the struggles of the two countries.

He said that, despite attempts at neocolonialism, Venezuela is fighting for its independence, strengthening its economy and with its people in peace.

The Installation Commission then read the CASOVEB Regulations and Five-Year Action Plan and presented the candidates for the 2025-2030 directive. The Assembly in full proceeded to the vote in which the following were elected: Antonio Pacavira as president; Fernando de Matos, vice-president and as Secretary General, the young Leandro Paquete, former Fundayacucho scholar, trained in the National Environment and Land Management Program of the Bolivarian University of Venezuela. Elisa Salvador, president of the LAASP, and the Venezuelan ambassador Belén Orsini Pic were incorporated as Counselors of the CASOVEB.

The Venezuelan diplomat thanked the Angolan people for their constant support and solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution and highlighted the relevance of February 4, as a date that marked turning points in the history of both Venezuela and Angola, praising the common struggle against imperialism, colonialism, fascism and for dignity, freedom and in defense of the right to life of the peoples of the Global South, following the example of Bolívar and Chávez and the heroic struggle that the Venezuelan people are experiencing today, led by President Nicolás Maduro.
