Head of State: Our military power is designed, deployed and fortified to defend this land

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, praised the strengthening of national military power in the midst of threats against the country by the United States (US) government.
“These 16 weeks of threats, psychological aggression and stalking have awakened a revitalized, deployed Bolivarian National Armed Forces, an expanded, better trained Bolivarian Militia and a People that calmly assume their plans and support their military,” said the head of state during the Digital Zone segment of his Con Maduro+ program number 97.
He stressed that the Independence 200 exercises confirm that Venezuela “has a modest, important military power, but one that guarantees that our country is respected. Because what we want is peace,” he stressed.
“We have an Armed Force that during the Independence 200 exercise has increased its military power (...) and the nation's power has been strengthened to continue its development, because our military power is not designed to have military bases abroad, it is not designed to colonize Caribbean islands (...) our military power is designed, deployed and fortified to defend this land, defend the seas and above all protect the right of our people to their development in peace,” he emphasized.
