The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during the XII Extraordinary Summit Heads of State and Prime Ministers of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), announced that the block has purchased a ship for transporting food with refrigeration capacity.

The head of state specified that this is the Alliance's first asset collectively owned, while assuring that an aircraft will also be purchased for the same purpose; and recalled how the empire hijacked and dismantled a plane, belonging to Venezuela, that was used to transport humanitarian aid.

The president raised the need to reaffirm Latin America as a zone of peace, coexistence, dialogue and understanding; and called for the union of the region. He also pointed out that CELAC must be strengthened to support sovereignty and peace processes.

“We must continue to move forward in terms of permanent action that is always united,” he emphasized.
