The National Institute for Socialist Training and Education (INCES) and the Ministry of Penitentiary Services signed an agreement with the intention of facilitating the social reintegration of prisoners in the country.

With the signing of these agreements, 109 educational programs adapted to the reality of each prison at the national level are expected to be offered.

In this regard, according to an INCES press release, as part of these agreements, a pilot project will begin in five prioritized prisons, where training will be provided in Venezuelan Sign Language through the José Gregorio Hernández Mission, guaranteeing spaces of inclusion for people with disabilities within the prison system.

These actions are part of the Miranda Project Redemption Plan, which seeks to fulfill eight hours a day of educational, socio-productive and service activities, reaffirming the commitment to a transformative and humanistic prison system where education and work are fundamental pillars for rehabilitation.
