Ministry of Culture announces winners of the XII National Book Award

This weekend, the names of the winners of the XII National Book Award (NLP) , organized by the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC) through the National Book Center (Cenal), between August 2023 and March 2024, were announced.
Once all the works submitted to the competition had been read and reviewed, the jury, made up of the writers Beatriz Aiffil, Ignacio Barreto and Héctor González, announced the verdict on August 12.
The winning categories are Best Book; Collection or Series; Illustration; Innovative Format; Art Book; Craft Book; Book for People with Functional Diversity; Electronic or Digital Book; Children's and Youth Book; Cover Design; Poster; Site that promotes Books and Reading; and Production in audiovisual media. In this edition, publications produced and printed in Venezuela during the years 2021 and 2022 are recognized.

Notes for the study of the Civil Registry in Venezuela; Collection or series: Historical Insurgences and Cimarrona Afroepistemologies Collection; Illustration: Waika, the respondona; Innovative format: Miga and Da Capo, jazz singers, by Florencia Grillet; Art book: Miga and Da Capo, jazz singers; Handcrafted book: In three points; Book for people with functional diversity: The spectacled bear, by Elena Molina Morales; Electronic or digital book: Diary of a doll, by Carmen Delia Bencomo; Children's book and adolescent: The magic dresses by Almendra Brillas, by Hugo Colmenares; Cover Design: The Dream Fish, by Wilfredo Machado. Poster: The Venezuelan electoral model: democratic, reliable, inclusive and sovereign; Site that promotes Books and Reading: The website of Monte Ávila Editores Latinoamericana; Audiovisual media production: Mariana Flores Melo Foundation for Reading.
