The Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC) carried out an environmental oversight deployment to verify the proper functioning of the forestry sector throughout the country.

The inspection day was carried out from June 02 to 08 by officials of the Ministry of People's Power for Ecosocialism, as reported by Minister Ricardo Molina, who explained that more than 100 inspections were carried out during this operation.

Among the procedures carried out, the following were effectively addressed: 11 rural land, 23 sawmills, 54 carpentry shops, 24 deposits of forest products, 2 furnaces for the production of charcoal and 33 mobilization guides were verified and the result was the retention of 312.9 cubic meters (m3) of rola wood, 2.08 m3 of sawn wood and 217 units of stantiles.

Molina assured that the oversight operation was carried out as part of the Bolivarian Government's fight against corruption. “65 subpoenas were issued, 127 technical reports were drawn up, 41 administrative files were constituted for officials and illegal activities were paralyzed in 7 companies,” he explained, a MINEC press report.

He also asserted that these complaints were received by the Popular and Communal Government Chamber that activated the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, in which 0800 -AMBIENT (0800-2624368), a direct and anonymous communication channel “for the people to denounce”, also operates.

In addition, it reported that 277 officials participated during the operation under the coordination of the General Directorate for Oversight and Control of Environmental Impacts of the Ministry of Ecosocialism, members of the Bolivarian National Guard (Environmental Nursery), the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), the Public Ministry (MP) and the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC).
